What to do
-
Keep cycling, and forget about the law.

Read this site and check the web links.
-
If you get a ticket, let us know. You can fight and win.
-
Tell us if you've stopped cycling because of the law.
-
Educate (and irritate!) your friends. Write a letter to the editor. Lobby your MP.

If you get stopped by the Police, don't argue. Their job is to enforce the law. They are likely to let you off with a warning, as they prefer to avoid the paperwork of issuing a ticket or taking you to court.
-
Don't give up. The helmet law harms cycling and needs to be changed.
